Job Title: Learning Support Assistant
Axcis are working with a fantastic SEMH school in Christchurch, Dorset who are looking for an experienced Teaching Assistant to work in with primary SEMH pupils who have an EHCP of SEMH or ASC and many pupils also have also a history of trauma. The school is a specialist SEND school, is well resourced, has a superb teaching team and excellent facilities that incorporate both outdoor learning in some beautiful and tranquil grounds as well as in class support. You'll be joining a team of TA's working with SEMH and a history of trauma and anxiety. The school are looking for staff who are warm and nurturing who have experience working with pupils with a history of trauma. you will work with many pupils with anxiety and who find it difficult to trust and build relationships, as such a calm and patient nature is required. The school is a lovely place to work with supportive environments and has a positive and inclusive work ethos. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children with SEND ideally as a TA. You will be a role model, mentor and daily support to the child you will be working with and will need to be able to establish a good working relationship with pupils and staff. The role is a full time post starting working on a 1:1 basis with pupils both in and out of the classroom working closely with the teaching team as they integrate into the classroom. Pupils will have a broad range of ability and the school are looking for knowledgeable and supportive staff to ensure that learning progresses. The role starts in September 2024 and would be for the full academic year.
