We’re currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant to join a supportive secondary school in Plymouth. This is a full-time, long-term position, ideal for someone who thrives in a school setting and is looking to gain further experience supporting students with additional needs.
The Role:
As a Learning Support Assistant, you’ll work closely with class teachers and the SEND team to provide tailored support to students aged 11–16. Your responsibilities will include:
1:1 and small group support for pupils with a range of additional needs (e.g., Autism, ADHD, SEMH)
Assisting with behaviour management and engagement in lessons
Helping to implement EHCP strategies and personalised learning plans
Supporting pupils both in and out of the classroom
Promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment
You will need:
Experience working with children or young people in an educational, care, or youth work setting
A calm, patient, and nurturing approach
Strong communication and teamwork skills
A DBS on the Update Service
