Axcis Education is recruiting a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant to join a highly regarded specialist SEND college in Bromley. This is an excellent opportunity to support post-16 students with a range of additional needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, physical disabilities, complex learning difficulties, communication needs, and SEMH. Working as part of a supportive team, you will help students build confidence, independence, life skills, and employability skills, preparing them for adulthood and future opportunities. Key Responsibilities • Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with SEND. • Support learners during classroom lessons, vocational programmes, and practical activities. • Assist with subjects including art, drama, cooking, life skills, employability, and community-based learning. • Encourage student engagement, participation, and independence. • Support communication, social skills, emotional regulation, and positive behaviour. • Help students achieve individual learning and EHCP targets. • Provide personal care where required, maintaining dignity and respect at all times. • Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and support staff to deliver high-quality support. The Ideal Candidate • Experience supporting children, young people, or vulnerable adults with SEND. • Previous experience as a Learning Support Assistant, Teaching Assistant, Support Worker, Care Assistant, Healthcare Assistant, Youth Worker, or similar role. • Experience supporting individuals with Autism (ASD), ADHD, physical disabilities, communication needs, SEMH, or complex needs is desirable. • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. • A patient, caring, and adaptable approach. • Confidence supporting personal care and independence skills. • A genuine passion for helping young people succeed.
