Job Title: Learning Support Assistant, KS3 Alternative Provision, Full-Time
A Learning Support Assistant (LSA) is required for work at an alternative provision in Edgbaston area. The provision supports children and young people aged 11 to 14 years who have lived through very challenging life experiences. These young individuals are tackling Social Emotional and Mental Health Challenges (SEMH) and can display challenging behaviours. Previous experience of supporting within a similar provision is not essential but would be highly beneficial. Requirements which are vital, include high levels of dedication and resilience as well as the ability to create strong relationships with young people and being a positive role model that they can depend upon. These traits are crucial to being successful in the role of an LSA at an alternative provision. Working hours for this role are 8:30-3:30 Monday to Friday, during term-time. As an LSA it is your responsibility to implement and feedback on the strategies and plans that have been put in place by the teachers, counsellors and/or therapists within school. These professionals ensure that that the support each individual receives has a therapeutic approach to their personal development and education.
