Job Title: HR Assistant
A welcoming and supportive SEND school in Reading is seeking a proactive and organised HR Assistant to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong administrative and people skills who is passionate about supporting a school environment that makes a real difference to the lives of children with additional needs. The successful candidate will support the day-to-day HR and recruitment processes within the school, helping to ensure staff records, safeguarding checks and administrative systems are maintained accurately and efficiently. You will work closely with the senior leadership team and school office staff to provide professional and confidential HR support. Key responsibilities will include supporting recruitment and onboarding processes, maintaining employee records, monitoring compliance and safer recruitment documentation, assisting with absence management and staff files, responding to HR queries, preparing letters and documents, and supporting general school administration where required. The ideal candidate will have previous administrative or HR experience, excellent organisational skills, strong attention to detail and the ability to manage confidential information professionally. Experience working within a school or educational setting is desirable but not essential. A positive attitude, good communication skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team are essential. This role would suit someone who is compassionate, reliable and committed to supporting a positive working environment within a specialist SEND setting.
