Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) – SEND Department
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience
Contract: Full-time, Term Time Only

We are seeking an enthusiastic, skilled and dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our SEND Department, supporting pupils with hearing impairment.
Our specialist provision supports children who are deaf or have hearing loss and use hearing aids to access learning. British Sign Language (BSL) is not required for this role, as pupils communicate through spoken language and use amplification technology within the classroom.
The Role
The successful candidate will:
* Support pupils with hearing impairment across the curriculum.
* Deliver planned interventions and learning activities for individuals and small groups.
* Work closely with teachers, the SEND team and external professionals to ensure pupils achieve their full potential.
* Monitor pupil progress and contribute to assessment and review processes.
* Promote independence, confidence and positive social interaction.
* Assist in creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
* Lead learning activities and cover classes when required in line with HLTA responsibilities.
We Are Looking For Someone Who:
* Holds HLTA status or has equivalent relevant experience.
* Has experience working with children with SEND, ideally within a primary setting.
* Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Is committed to inclusion and raising achievement for all pupils.
* Can work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
* Is flexible, proactive and able to build positive relationships with pupils, families and colleagues.
* Has high expectations of pupil achievement and behaviour.
