Job Title: Higher Level Teaching Assistant (Level 4), SEND Support
Are you a HLTA with experience supporting children with SEND?
If so, Axcis Education has a fantastic opportunity for you. We are working with an excellent school in the Lozells area that is looking for a higher level teaching assistant to join their team of SEND specialists. The role is based within the the KS2 class of the school's resource hub. The hub is made up of children who either access the hub as and when needed or are based full-time within the hub.
This school is a large mainstream primary school. Catering to children aged 4 to 11 years it is conveniently situated with access via public transport as well as by car with on-site parking available. Their curriculum is child centred and individualised. This school really values their team and offers in-house training to all staff including agency staff. You would be working with small groups of primary age children, who have a range of special education needs.
This role is to begin in September 2025 but the school would like to meet with the candidate ahead of the summer holidays.
The ideal candidate should:
• Be a qualified teacher or an experienced HLTA (or other equivalent qualification at level 4 or above)
• Kind, compassionate, and patient
• Have experience supporting children with SEND
Requirements:
• HLTA / Level 4 Qualification or above – Essential
• Experience of working with pupils with varying SEND needs – Essential
• Experience of leading within a classroom with multiple TAs – Essential
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service required or we’re happy to carry out a new one ahead of you starting the position – Essential
• Minimum of 2 good references – Essential
