Job Title: Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) – Intervention Support Room Lead- Lewisham
Lewisham, South East London
Full-time, Monday to Friday
I’m currently working with a fantastic secondary school in the Lewisham area who are looking for an experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to take the lead in their Intervention Support Room.
This is a great opportunity for someone who’s confident supporting students with additional needs and is ready to play a key role in helping them reach their potential. The position focuses mainly on Year 7 pupils who are working at Key Stage 1–3 levels and may have social communication difficulties, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) or Speech and Language Communication Needs (SLCN).
The successful candidate will:
• Have experience supporting students with SEND, ideally within a secondary setting
• Be patient, empathetic, and proactive in their approach
• Feel comfortable leading small group and 1:1 interventions
• Be confident creating a nurturing, structured environment where pupils feel safe and supported
This role would suit a skilled HLTA or a very experienced Teaching Assistant looking to take on additional responsibility.
