Calling on health and social care professionals in Swindon....if you are currently looking for flexible working hours and the chance to take as much work as you want, then please get in touch with us. We are looking for healthcare assistants to work on an ad-hoc basis for a small special needs home in Swindon.
This home caters to those with special needs rather than the elderly and as such we are looking for people who have experience in a wide variety of needs such as challenging behaviour, autism and epilepsy. The number of shifts you want to pick up really depends on you and what you think you are happy to work. You will also have the option to flex up and down week by week depending on what you need, and should you drive, there is also the option to pick up shifts at their sister site in Trowbridge. Ideally we are looking for people that have not only their health and social care qualification but are also trained in manual handling, personal care and hold a certificate in epilepsy training
This care home provides an invaluable service to 7 service users, and provides a relaxed and attentive atmosphere that helps mold and build personalities, whilst also encouraging independent living where possible.
The ideal candidate will;
- Hold at least a health and social care level 3 qualification
- Have experience in a care home setting; mainly working with special needs rather than the elderly
- Be comfortable with personal care
- Be trained to work with those who have epilepsy, if you don't this is something we will be able to help you with
- Have a flexible working week and be open to doing some shifts at the weekend
- Have a patient and approacable personality that lends itself to special needs
- Hold an enchanced DBS certificate on the update service, if you don't currently have one we can help you get this
If you are interested, then please contact LeeH at Axcis Education on 0117 373 6127.
This is a temporary position unless otherwise stated.
Please note: The details of this job are correct as of the start of the school closures. We anticipate that there will still be a need to fill this vacancy either on the expected timescale (as many of the schools we work with will remain open to support SEND/Keyworker children) or when schools re-open. We are therefore continuing to accept applications but please bear with us as there may be a delay on the listed start date due to the fact that the situation is continually evolving.
