A secondary school in Farnworth, Bolton (BL4) is seeking a Graduate Teaching Assistant to join their team for the 2025/2026 academic year. This is an excellent opportunity for graduates who wish to gain classroom experience in a secondary school, support students’ learning, and prepare for a career in teaching.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist subject teachers with lesson delivery and classroom support
Work with individual students or small groups to support learning
Support students with additional learning needs or challenges
Assist with planning, preparation, and classroom organisation
Encourage student engagement, participation, and independence
Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teaching staff
Contribute to extracurricular activities and wider school initiatives
Requirements:
A degree in a relevant subject for secondary education (minimum 2:2 preferred)
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Patient, enthusiastic, and supportive approach with teenagers
Genuine interest in education and student development
Experience working with young people (tutoring, mentoring, volunteering) is desirable but not essential
This is a full-time, temporary role for the full academic year, offering a competitive daily rate of £89 to £105 depending on experience and qualifications.
