Job Title: Full Time College Teaching Assistant, Oldham
Axcis education is working with a large college in North Oldham who are looking to appoint a special education needs and disabilities teaching assistant to work with a number of pupils with additional needs. The college in question is a mainstream college which houses around 10,000 students and you will be working in a class size of 24. This is a full time position, Monday to Friday 8:30am until 4:00pm The college has specialist facilities for a variety of courses, including Early Years Education, Health and Social Care, Construction and Digital and Creative Studies. The school requirements: -You must have experience working with young adults -DBS checked and on the update service, or be willing to process a new one -Someone who is passionate about working with young adults - The successful SEND teaching assistant will have experience working on a 1:1 basis with students who have speech and language difficulties, global delay or SEMH College ethos: -To be supportive to both staff and students -To fully equip students with the tools they need to shape their future career -Five core values: Ambition, Courage, Inclusion, Responsiveness and Integrity Axcis offers excellent training opportunities, including CPD training sessions on Autism Awareness, Team Teach, Behaviour Management and Non-verbal Communication, to name but a few. Please note: The details of this job are correct as of the start of the school closures. We anticipate that there will still be a need to fill this vacancy either on the expected timescale (as many of the schools we work with will remain open to support SEND/Keyworker children) or when schools re-open.
