About the Role We are seeking two passionate and experienced SEND Teaching Assistants to join the dedicated SEN provision of our vibrant primary school in Tottenham (N17). You will work closely with the SENCo and class teachers to support pupils with a range of additional needs, helping them to achieve their full potential in a nurturing and inclusive environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), particularly those with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
- Support pupils with personal care needs, ensuring dignity, safety, and sensitivity at all times.
- Work collaboratively with teachers and therapists to deliver tailored learning plans.
- Help create a positive, structured, and supportive learning environment.
- Promote independence, confidence, and social skills among pupils.
Essential Requirements
- Previous experience working in a school setting with pupils with SEND.
- Experience supporting children with ASD and/or personal care needs.
- A calm, patient, and empathetic approach to supporting pupils with diverse needs.
- Excellent communication skills and a team-focused mindset.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Desirable Qualifications
- Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
- Training in Team Teach, PECS, Makaton, or other SEND-related approaches.
