Job Title: Experienced Primary SEN Teaching Assistant
We are seeking a highly experienced and compassionate 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to support a vibrant primary school in Camden. The role will be to support Pupils with Autism, complex needs and challenging behaviour.
This is a full-time position that requires a strong, consistent adult who can provide high levels of personalised support and is fully confident in working with children with complex needs, including Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD).
The Role
You’ll work closely with one pupil throughout the school day, supporting their learning, communication, and behaviour, while also providing personal care with empathy and respect. You will:
Deliver 1:1 support tailored to the students EHCP and individual needs.
Assist with learning activities, emotional regulation, and behaviour management.
Use communication tools and sensory strategies where appropriate.
Provide personal care, including toileting and hygiene routines, as needed.
Work collaboratively with class teachers, therapists, and external agencies.
Help create a safe, consistent, and nurturing environment.
What We’re Looking For
We are only considering candidates who bring substantial SEN experience. You must have:
A proven track record working with children with ASD, PMLD, and complex learning and medical needs.
Experience managing challenging behaviour in a positive, proactive way.
Confidence with personal care routines and manual handling, or a willingness to be trained.
A calm, resilient nature and the ability to think on your feet.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a wider support team.
