**About the Role:**
As an English Teacher in our school, you will have the opportunity to contribute to our vibrant learning community by delivering engaging and innovative English lessons to students from Key Stage 3 to Key Stage 4. Previous experience with GCSE curriculum would be an asset, though it is not essential. Your commitment to fostering a love for literature and language in young learners will be at the core of your teaching practice.
**Responsibilities:**
- Planning, preparing and delivering high-quality English lessons that cater to the needs of all pupils and ensure maximum student engagement and progress.
- Creating an inclusive classroom environment where each student feels valued and supported in their learning journey.
- Assessing, recording, and reporting on the development, progress, and attainment of students.
- Contributing to the creation and development of resources, schemes of work, and teaching strategies.
- Participating in curriculum development and school improvement initiatives.
- Attending and contributing to departmental meetings, parent-teacher meetings, and whole-school training events.
- Collaborating with fellow teachers to share best practices and foster a collegial and professional working environment.
- Engaging in continual professional development to keep abreast of educational innovations and pedagogical research.
**Requirements:**
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK.
- Degree in English or related subject.
- Strong understanding of the English curriculum and assessment framework, especially for GCSE.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to inspire, motivate and challenge students through quality teaching and learning.
- A commitment to ongoing professional development.
**Desirable:**
- Experience teaching GCSE English.
- A proactive and self-reflective approach to teaching practice.
- Ability to integrate technology to enhance learning experiences.
