Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 am - 3:30 pm
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate English Teacher to join our team at a brilliant alternative provision. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work within a supportive and dynamic environment that is committed to the inclusion and progress of students with SEMH needs.
Responsibilities:
• Design and implement personalised educational plans that cater to the individual needs of students with SEMH needs.
• Create an engaging and adaptable classroom environment that fosters learning and accommodates the diverse needs of children SEMH needs.
• Use a variety of instructional strategies and resources to maintain student engagement and promote academic success.
• Collaborate with parents, caregivers, and multidisciplinary teams to support the social, emotional, and academic development of students.
• Establish and maintain clear behavioural expectations and structures within the classroom, utilising positive reinforcement and supportive behaviour management techniques.
• Continuously assess and monitor the progress of students, adapting teaching methods to meet evolving needs.
• Attend and contribute to staff meetings, professional development sessions, and other school functions.
• Demonstrate a compassionate and patient approach while promoting self-confidence and independence in students.
Qualifications:
• Experience working with children with SEMH or similar learning differences in an educational setting.
• A recognised teaching qualification suitable for the UK educational system.
• Strong understanding of SEMH and its impact on learning and behaviour.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
