Axcis are currently seeking Education graduates for teaching assistant work in Bath. We work with mainstream, SEND school, alternative proviions and pupil referral units in Bath and the surrounding areas. Are you seeking to gain experience within SEND? We would love to to hear from you. We have some 1-1 positions as well as general in-class support. The majority of our roles start as ad-hoc on the day supply but many are extended into longer term roles. They sometimes lead to permanent contracts for people who make a good impression.
You will need 3-6 months experience working with children, have you completed any placements in your studies or done any voluntary work with children? The schools are looking for someone who is calm, patient and able to use their initiative. You must have an understanding of working with young people with special educational needs and disabilities and have a real desire to make a difference. Some of the special needs you may be working with are downs syndrome, hearing and vidual impairments and physical disabilities. You may be required to do some manual handling or personal care.
You will need to hold an up to date DBS certificate and be able to provide a detailed, work history with contactable references to be considered for this role. If you have lived or worked abroad for more than six months in the last five years then you will need to provide a police check from that country. If you're ready to take the next step in your career in SEND, please get in touch today - we would love to hear from you!
This is a temporary position.
If you are interested, then please contact Charise Clarke at Axcis Education on 0117 373 6127.
This is a temporary position unless otherwise stated.
Please note: The details of this job are correct as of the start of the school closures. We anticipate that there will still be a need to fill this vacancy either on the expected timescale (as many of the schools we work with will remain open to support SEND/Keyworker children) or when schools re-open. We are therefore continuing to accept applications but please bear with us as there may be a delay on the listed start date due to the fact that the situation is continually evolving.
