A highly respected SEMH high school in the Lancashire area are requesting a full time Teacher who can teach Joinery, Carpentry, Construction or DT skills up to BTEC. The hours for this role are Monday to Friday, 8.15am-2.45pm and there is a very competitive daily rate on offer.
On a Friday the children only work until 12.30pm so teachers are allowed to go home or stay in school to complete their PPA time.
The school have a large, well equipped and resourced DT room with all up to date machinery and tools needed to teach a successful construction skills or DT session. The school are very keen to have this subject added to their enriching curriculum so the start date is ASAP but negotiable for the right candidate.
Experience working in a special provision is not essential. However experience supporting children with challenging behaviours or SEMH is a must. Team Teach training would be an advantage to this role.
Due to the nature of the role you must have a calm, compassionate, pro active attitude, and be equipped to encourage and improve the students learning with a positive can do approach.
The school has fantastic grounds on which the children are allowed recreational time, while the building is very secure and offers all the children and staff the opportunity to work in well resourced environments.
This position is to commence ASAP and is for the right candidate will run until the end of the academic year with a potential to go perm with the school.
