Job Title: Complex Needs Teaching Assistant Location: Walton, Surrey (Walton, Surrey) Employment Type: Full-time, Monday-Friday, 8:00?am – 3:30?pm Salary: Paid to scale Role Overview We are seeking a dedicated Complex Needs Teaching Assistant to support learners with a range of additional needs in a vibrant, inclusive classroom environment. Working closely with qualified teachers, you will implement tailored strategies that promote independence, confidence, and academic progress. Key Responsibilities • Provide one-to-one and small-group assistance to students with complex educational, social, and emotional needs. • Implement and adapt individualized learning plans, ensuring consistency with statutory guidance and school policies. • Support behaviour management using positive, evidence-based approaches. • Prepare and organise teaching resources, assist with lesson delivery, and monitor student progress. • Record observations, maintain accurate records, and contribute to parent/guardian communication. • Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and professional development activities. Essential Requirements • GCSEs (or equivalent) including English and Mathematics. • Relevant experience (minimum 1?year) supporting children with complex needs (e.g., ASD, ADHD, SEND). • Strong interpersonal skills, patience, and the ability to build trusting relationships. • Knowledge of safeguarding, health & safety, and data protection standards. • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. Desirable • Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification or SEND-related training. • First Aid/CPR certification.
