We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Complex Needs Teaching Assistant to join our dynamic team in Wandsworth, London. As a crucial member of our educational staff, you will work closely with students who have a range of complex and diverse needs, including physical, sensory, behavioural, and learning difficulties.
Responsibilities:
• Provide tailored support to students with complex needs, ensuring their personal, academic, and social development in a safe and nurturing environment.
• Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behavioural support programmes under the guidance of the lead teacher.
• Facilitate the use of specialised equipment and adapt learning materials to meet individual student needs.
• Encourage students' independence, self-confidence, and engagement in the learning process through positive reinforcement and bespoke teaching techniques.
• Collaborate with the teaching team, therapists, and external agencies to coordinate support services for students.
• Monitor and record students' progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents.
• Assist with personal care tasks where necessary, respecting the dignity and privacy of each student.
• Maintain a secure, clean, and orderly learning environment.
Qualifications:
• Relevant qualifications or experience working with individuals with complex needs.
• Profound understanding of safeguarding protocols and commitment to child welfare.
• Strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with staff, students, and parents.
• Ability to work flexibly, adapt to changing situations, and operate as part of a multidisciplinary team.
