Axcis require staff with a social care or children's support worker background to work in a children's residential care home in Carnforth, Lancashire. The home has a fantastic support structure and offers excellent resources for all staff that work there.
Supporting children with PMLD (Profound, Multiple Learning Difficulties) would be advantageous to this role, however supporting children with special/additional needs is a must.
The suitable candidate will be working with children aged 5 - 16 years and will be expected to support them in all aspects of daily life including helping with homework and accompanying to and from some appointments.
You must have a calm, patient nature and be resilient and able to deal with challenging and sometimes confrontational situations. You will need to be adaptable and flexible and, be able to develop good relationships with the children that you are working with.
The shifts vary from 8-12 hours and the pay rate is between £8-£10.70 depending on experience.
Excellent behaviour management skills are essential to this role and Team Teach training or equivalent would be an advantage.
