The pupils here have a range of needs, with many experiencing complex learning difficulties and speech, language and communication needs. What You’ll Be Doing As a Child Support Worker, you’ll play a key role in helping pupils feel safe, supported and ready to learn. Day to day, you’ll: Work alongside teachers and teaching assistants to support learning in class, in small groups or 1:1. Adapt tasks, use visuals and hands-on approaches to help children understand and stay engaged. Support communication and interaction, often working closely with speech and language therapists. Help pupils develop independence and life skills, celebrating progress in and out of the classroom. Offer calm, patient support when pupils are struggling with emotions or behaviour. Build strong, positive relationships with the children – you’ll often be that trusted adult they look to for reassurance. About You We’d love to hear from you if you: Have experience of working with children (especially those with SEND), or you’re keen to learn and develop. Are patient, resilient and able to adapt your approach to meet different needs. Enjoy working as part of a team but can also take initiative. Have strong communication skills and a caring, nurturing approach. Believe in celebrating every achievement, no matter how small.
