Autism 1-1 Teaching Assistant - Dursley - Gloucestershire - Role: SEND TA Jobs
Are you a dedicated SEND practitioner looking for a new challenge? Axcis are pleased to be working with a SEND school in Dursely who are looking to recruit an experienced teaching assistant to work 1-1 with a Y2 child with autism from September till the end of half term, their usual 1-1 has been signed off sick for two months. The role is three days a week Monday-Wednesday and the hours are 8:30-3:30pm. You will need to be able to quickly build rapport with the child and be able to enter their world. We are looking for someone patient with empathy and understanding.

You will be a role model, mentor and daily support to the child you will be working with and will need to be able to establish a good working relationship with them. Resilience is an essential trait as the child has challenging behaviour and experience working with children with autism is a must. You must have a calm nature and ability to de-escalate situations. The successful candidate will be creative, flexible and have a natural talent for working with students who exhibit challenging behaviour.
