Job Title: ASD Teaching Assistant in Wednesbury
Location: Wednesbury
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Full-Time, Ongoing
Pay: Starting from £89 per day (PAYE)
Hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm, Monday to Friday
Are you an experienced and compassionate Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)?
We are currently recruiting for a committed and nurturing individual to join a welcoming primary school in Wednesbury, working with pupils from Reception through to Year 6.
This is a fantastic opportunity to play a vital role in the development and well-being of autistic children, helping them to thrive in a supportive, inclusive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide 1:1 and small group support to children with ASD across various year groups.
• Assist pupils in accessing the curriculum through tailored strategies and interventions.
• Support children’s emotional, social, and academic development.
What We’re Looking For:
• Proven experience working with children with Autism in a school setting – Essential
• Strong understanding of ASD, including behavioural and sensory needs – Essential
• Ability to build positive, trusting relationships with children and staff.
• Patient, empathetic, and enthusiastic approach to support.
• Strong communication skills and team-working abilities.
Requirements:
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply
• At least two professional references
• Relevant school-based experience in the UK – Highly desirable
