Job Title: ASD Experience Teaching Assistant
Experienced SEND Teaching Assistant – Primary School (NW5)
Full-Time | Term Time Only | Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 4:30pm
We are looking for a skilled and resilient SEND Teaching Assistant to join a warm and inclusive primary school in NW5. This full-time role involves providing 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with Autism (ASD) and other complex needs.
About the Role
Supporting children with ASD, communication difficulties and social-emotional needs.
Providing consistent and nurturing behaviour support, including de-escalation and emotional regulation.
Assisting with personal care where required, ensuring dignity and respect at all times.
Working closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and wider school team to deliver tailored learning and support plans.
Helping pupils access learning, build confidence, and develop independence in a positive, structured environment.
Requirements
Proven experience working with Autism (ASD) in a primary school or SEND setting.
Confidence in supporting pupils with challenging behaviour.
Willingness and experience in providing personal care.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Calm, patient, and proactive approach.
Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to apply).
