Job Title: 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support Autistic Pupil
JOB LOCATION:
Bristol
JOB WORKING HOURS:
Full Time
Axcis are pleased to be working with a mainstream school in central Bristol who are looking to recruit an experienced teaching assistant to work 1-1 with a Y5 child with autism for six weeks, part time mornings only 8:30-12:30pm Monday-Friday. The school has a very friendly atmosphere and a supportive environment, and is well liked by all staff we have sent to them in the past. Situated in Central Bristol the school has been described as having a positive and inclusive working ethos and has excellent links to public transport. You will be a role model, mentor and daily support to the child you will be working with and will need to be able to establish a good working relationship with them. Resilience is an essential trait as the child has challenging behaviour and experience working with children with autism is a must. You must have a calm nature and ability to de-escalate situations. The successful candidate will be creative, flexible and have a natural talent for working with students who exhibit challenging behaviour. This is a temporary position. If you are interested, then please contact Dan Davey at Axcis Education on 0117 373 6127.

This is a temporary position unless otherwise stated.

Please note: The details of this job are correct as of the start of the school closures. We anticipate that there will still be a need to fill this vacancy either on the expected timescale (as many of the schools we work with will remain open to support SEND/Keyworker children) or when schools re-open. We are therefore continuing to accept applications but please bear with us as there may be a delay on the listed start date due to the fact that the situation is continually evolving.

Axcis is an equal opportunities employer. The company is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

All staff will be subject to our stringent vetting procedures, which include an enhanced DBS, full work history, references and a face-to-face interview.

Axcis Education is an employment agency offering temporary supply work for daily, short-term and long-term assignments in addition to permanent positions.
