Axcis have a vacancy for a teaching assistant at a well respected specialist school in Cardiff working with a KS4 child with PMLD. Rated 'Outstanding' by Ofsted, this fantastic specialist school uses a range of innovative teaching methods to help their students make the most of their educational experience. The school is small but well resourced and has a fantastic atmosphere upon entering the grounds. Situated on the outskirts of Newport, the school has beautiful grounds and is renowned as a centre of excellence. The role starts in September and is part time three days a week with potential to continue till the end of term. The position is general in-class support - you will need to use hoists and support the child with personal care. Many of the children are non verbal and the ability to use Makaton would be highly advantageous. If you are a caring, friendly and patient individual then this could be the perfect role for you. The hours are really great and are 8:30-3:30pm, we offer competitive rates of pay and a fantastic refer a friend scheme where you can earn up to £250 in highstreet vouchers. The ideal candidate will be an experienced SEND teaching assistant who has worked with children with PMLD in a special needs environment. At Axcis, we value our teachers and support staff and the hard work they put in on a daily basis. This is a temporary position. This is a temporary position unless otherwise stated.

Please note: The details of this job are correct as of the start of the school closures. We anticipate that there will still be a need to fill this vacancy either on the expected timescale (as many of the schools we work with will remain open to support SEND/Keyworker children) or when schools re-open. We are therefore continuing to accept applications but please bear with us as there may be a delay on the listed start date due to the fact that the situation is continually evolving.
