Axcis are pleased to be working with a family based in South Devon who is looking to recruit an experienced 1-1 Support Work / Enabler to work with a child with ASD, Down syndrome and SLD.
The role is for approx. 30 hours per week to work a mixture of days and the odd evening. Based in the family home, you will be a welcome support in this comfortable environment.
The role will be to provide 1-1 support through sensory play, personal care, and general support. Some time will be spent in the home and also in an outside environment where you will accompany the child on walks and activities. The ability to use Makaton is essential and the family is seeking a person with a friendly, can-do attitude who can quickly establish a trusting relationship with the child.
This role is an on-going requirement for support and starts ASAP. It requires a very compassionate and committed individual to carry out this role.
The ideal candidate must have experience of
Supporting children between the ages of 5 and 12 with complex needs.
Experience of sensory needs
High levels of safeguarding knowledge
Experience of personal care
Manual handling experience
This role pays between £11.50 and £12.80 per hour depending on experience.
