Axcis are working with a primary school in Knowsley who are looking for SEND experienced teaching assistants to work in an autism base with primary pupils.
The students are all verbal and high functioning, routine are important to them and any changes in routine need to be explained to them with enough notice.
The schools we work with are lovely with supportive environments and have been described as having a positive and inclusive working ethos reagarding SEND.
The ideal candidate will have experience working with either children or adults with autism.
Maybe you've been a SEND support worker for adults but you want to transition into working with children.
You will be a role model, mentor and daily support to the children you will be working with and will need to be able to establish a good working relationship with them.
Resilience is an essential trait as some of the children have challenging behaviour.
You must have a calm nature and ability to de-escalate situations. The successful candidate will be creative, flexible and patient as well as being compassionate and empathetic.
Axcis offers competitive rates of pay and candidate care and you will have a professional consultant who will be your personal point of contact throughout your time working for us.
Axcis offers excellent training opportunities, including CPD training sessions on Autism Awareness, Team Teach, Behaviour Management and Non-verbal Communication, to name but a few.
This is a temporary position.
If you are interested, then please contact Rebecca Donnelly at Axcis Education on 0151 448 2810.
This is a temporary position unless otherwise stated.
Please note: The details of this job are correct as of the start of the school closures. We anticipate that there will still be a need to fill this vacancy either on the expected timescale (as many of the schools we work with will remain open to support SEND/Keyworker children) or when schools re-open. We are therefore continuing to accept applications but please bear with us as there may be a delay on the listed start date due to the fact that the situation is continually evolving.

All staff will be subject to our stringent vetting procedures, which include an enhanced DBS, full work history, references and a face-to-face interview.
