Job Title: 1:1 Early Years SEND Teaching Assistant - ASD - Islington
London - North
A two-form entry primary school based Islington are looking for a 1:1 teaching assistant to provide support for a Reception pupil with Autism. The ideal teaching assistant will be a compassionate SEND TA who has previous experience supporting children with social communication and behavioural needs and can be calm and consistent when managing behaviour. You will also have a sound of understanding of working with children in EYFS and have experience using PECS or Makaton to support communication is highly desirable. This is a full-time role to start in September and continue throughout the academic year. About the role: o 1:1 SEND Teaching Assistant - Reception pupil with Autism o Full time, (Mon-Fri) The ideal candidate: o Sound knowledge of EYFS curriculum o Experience with Autism and Challenging Behaviour o PECS or Makaton experience - highly desirable but not essential. (School will provide training for the right candidate) About the school: o Dedicated and supportive leadership team o Friendly and Welcoming Staff o Easily Accessible by Public Transport This is a temporary position.
