Axcis are currently recruiting youth workers for teaching assistant roles in and around Bristol and the surrounding areas. We particularly want to talk to people who are unfazed by challenging behaviour, who are resilient and can remain calm under pressure. Those trained in Team Teach or MAPA will be at an advantage although this is not essential. If you are interested in transitioning to teaching assistant work, we work with a number of pupil referral units in the Bristol area who are looking for people experienced in challenging behaviour and emotional behavioural disorders.
If you're looking to make a positive change in the world then this is your chance. A lot of these children have had difficult home lives and have been let down many times. You must have a calm nature, be unfazed by challenging behaviour and have the ability to de-escalate situations - these children need a positive role model and the right candidate will be resilient, empathetic and understanding. If you make a positive impression at this referral unit a lot of our ad-hoc work turns into long term positions.
If you are interested, then please contact Dan Davey at Axcis Education on 0117 373 6127.
