Job Title: Teaching Assistant - SEMH/ Challenging Behaviour - KS3/4 - Salford
Axcis Education is proud to be working with an excellent PRU in Salford that is looking for a teaching assistant. The role is full-time and will begin in October 2019. The ideal candidate will be calm in nature and have an understand of a variety of de-escalation techniques. The teaching assistant will have experience of engaging pupils in alternative provisions or PRUs. High expectations must be expected of students at all time, especially given the academic ability of their pupils. This role is a general teaching assistant support role and would be working in a small class of 8 students in KS4. Students at the PRU display challenging behaviour as they have a range of additional needs such as SEMH. This PRU is based in Salford and has an excellent reputation in the local area. Strong senior leaders are committed in their quest to ensure that every student makes progress regardless of their starting point. This KS3/4 PRU boasts excellent facilities throughout and has great transport links locally to Manchester City Centre. This role is to begin October 2019 and will be until Christmas in the first instance, with a chance of this being extended beyond. If you are interested, then please contact Thomas Faithwaite at Axcis Education on 0161 507 9397.

This is a temporary position unless otherwise stated.

Please note: The details of this job are correct as of the start of the school closures. We anticipate that there will still be a need to fill this vacancy either on the expected timescale (as many of the schools we work with will remain open to support SEND/Keyworker children) or when schools re-open. We are therefore continuing to accept applications but please bear with us as there may be a delay on the listed start date due to the fact that the situation is continually evolving.

Axcis is an equal opportunities employer. The company is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

All staff will be subject to our stringent vetting procedures, which include an enhanced DBS, full work history, references and a face-to-face interview.

Axcis Education is an employment agency offering temporary supply work for daily, short-term and long-term assignments in addition to permanent positions.
