Axcis Education is currently working with a large secondary faith school based in Chester who is looking for a SEND teaching assistant to work with small groups of students that display challenging behaviours.
The ideal candidate will be energetic and have a sports background as working outdoors is a requirement for this role. The successful candidate will be providing both academic and pastoral support for the students. As such, you will need to be resilient, calm, and able to demonstrate an ability to deal with challenging and sometimes confrontational situations. The students require an individual who is adept at building strong relationships, and is able to be a positive role model and mentor.
-1:1 and small group work
-Provide academic and pastoral support
- Full time, (Mon-Fri)
The ideal candidate:
-Experience dealing with SEMH or challenging behaviour
- Ideally Team Teach trained (other de-escalation training is desirable)
-Ability to build a strong, respectful rapport with young people
- Large faith school in Chester
-Warm and friendly staff
- Easily accessible by public transport
