Looking for your next step in your SEND career? Axcis have a vacancy for a teaching assistant at a well respected specialist school in Cheltenham working with children with complex needs. The school has primary and secondary aged children so you will be working with ages from 5-16 year olds.
Rated 'Outstanding' by Ofsted, this fantastic specialist school has beautiful grounds and excellent resources. The school is large but has small classes of up to ten and has a fantastic atmosphere upon entering the grounds. The school uses alternative teaching techniques is renowned as a centre of excellence. The school are looking for someone who is calm, patient and able to use their initiative.
The role starts in September and is five days a week, the hours are 8:30-3:30pm. The role is temporary but has potential to be permanent for the right person. The position is general in-class support - you will need to use hoists and support children with personal care. Experience of working with children with complex needs is essential and many of them are non verbal.
