Support Workers Required, 2:1 ASD Support, Part-time - Exeter - Exeter - Role: SEND TA Jobs
Axcis Education are looking for an number of experienced health and social care workers to support a young adult with autism from his home in Exeter. The individual is 18 years old and non-verbal but communicates through a tablet. The idea of this role is to reignite the young person's enjoyment in life and help him build independence and confidence in himself. Experience in supporting young people with autism is essential as well as experience working with non-verbal communicators. You will be working alongside another support worker on a 2:1 basis for 3hrs/day. This young person has complex needs as well as an ASD diagnosis which can present as challenging behaviour.
Axcis are working with Devon County Council to provide effective support to a number of young people with various disabilities so even if you are not successful for this role you may have an opportunity to support a different individual with different needs. We are looking for experienced candidates with a passion for supporting young people and are able to use past experiences and skills to ensure a high level of care is provided.
