Job Title: SEMH Teacher (Year 4) Location: Oldham, Lancashire We are currently seeking a highly dedicated and resilient SEMH Teacher for a Year 4 class within a nurturing and supportive school located in Oldham, Lancashire. The ideal candidate will possess a genuine passion for teaching and a firm commitment to enhancing the educational experiences of children with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. Key Responsibilities: - Deliver engaging and differentiated lessons tailored to the needs of students with SEMH challenges. - Develop a positive, structured classroom environment that fosters a sense of security and encourages learning. - Assess students’ work and provide constructive feedback to support their progress. - Utilize behavior management strategies effectively to maintain a calm and productive classroom atmosphere. - Work collaboratively with support staff, such as teaching assistants and behavioral specialists, to ensure the best outcomes for all children. - Uphold school policies regarding safeguarding and welfare. - Communicate effectively with parents, carers, and other professionals involved in the students' education and well-being. - Participate in professional development opportunities to improve knowledge and skills related to SEMH. - Contribute to the wider life of the school through participation in extracurricular activities and events. Essential Requirements: - QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) in the UK. - Experience of teaching primary students, particularly those with SEMH needs and very challenging behaviors. - A proven track record of managing challenging behavior in the classroom. - High levels of resilience and the capacity to work effectively under pressure. - A current DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one. Preferred Qualifications: - TEAM TEACH training or equivalent behavior management qualification. While not essential, this is highly desirable. - Experience working in an SEND/SEMH setting or with students who have additional needs.
