Axcis are currently recruiting for a teacher of self development to start at one of our vocational training & apprenticeship provisions for 18-24 year olds in Waltham Forest.
You might not have taught personal development before but we'd like to hear from you if you're someone who really wants to make a difference in the lives of young people, to inspire them to think about their place in the world and their life choices, and support them to lead purposeful lives with integrity.
This role would suit a teacher with an interest in this area.
This role will be permanent and on a full-time basis, to commence in August 2019 (flexible on start date).
Candidates will have maths and English at GCSE grade "C" or above, and will be educated to degree level with evidence of outstanding practice working with 14-19 year old learners.
They are looking for someone to take the reins and move the programme forwards to the next level, and to ensure that student self-development remains at the heart of everything they do.
A further JD will be provided to successful applicants
The provision would prefer a qualified teacher BUT they are very open to applications from unqualified candidates with the correct experience and aptitude.
Key responsibilities include but not limited to:
Where external expertise is required, research and engage with specialists to ensure that learners have the best available information and support
Work with the student services manager to create an exciting and relevant scheme of work so every class has at least one outstanding session a week
Complete referrals to internal and external support as and when required
