One to One Teaching Assistants needed for an Alternative Provision in Exeter - Devon - Role: SEN TA Jobs
Axcis are currently working with a large federation of alternative provisions based in Exeter and Plymouth to recruit experienced teaching assistants and mentors to work one to one with specific pupils. Although these roles will start on a temporary basis, they will become permanent for those candidates who become part of the team and make strong relationships with the young people.
The trust cater for pupils in KS2, KS3 and KS4 and provide a range of educational experiences tailored to pupils' individual needs.
The trust can offer an in-depth induction course which includes first aid and MAPA training, alongside continued professional development.
The role involves working one to one with a specific pupil, including the planning and delivery of lessons and activities alongside the support of the centre teachers. Although you are responsible for the delivery of academic lessons, there is a huge amount of freedom regarding the day to day timetable and some fantastic outdoor resources at the centre.
Ideal candidates will:
" Have a good standard of education
" Experience of working with children with social, emotion and mental health difficulties and/or children with SEND needs who display challenging behaviour
" Have a true desire to change the lives of vulnerable young people
" Be a great team player who is willing to go the extra mile
" Be willing to work one to one with a specific pupil
" Be committed to their on going professional development
