Axcis have a vacancy for teaching assistants at a well respected FE college in Lancashire.
This friendly, community-focused college is looking for an experienced TA/LSA who understands the challenges and joys of working with these unique young people.
The college has a strong team of permanent staff who can support agency supply.
This role offers fantastic opportunity to make a real difference to young people. You will be required to work with small groups, or on a one to one basis assisting students with their literacy and numeracy skills, and any other vocational subjects they may be studying.
You will be a role model, mentor and daily support to the pupil you will be working with, also helping them to stay on task and complete any work outstanding.
An essential skill is the ability build positive relationships that help to break down barriers, build self-esteem and challenge disaffection.
You must have an understanding of working with young people with special educational needs and disabilities and have a real desire to make a difference.
These roles are full time and on a long term basis, however there may be opportunities for part time and on a short term basis also. They have excellent rates of pay that reflect the hard work you contribute to the world of special educational needs and disabilities
