SEMH Learning Mentor - Birmingham central
Axcis Education are urgently recruiting for a learning mentor in Birmingham central who ideally has experience of supporting young adults with Social, Emotional Mental Health. Our client is a new provision which caters for secondary aged pupils who have either been excluded from school on a full time basis or who are receiving interim intervention.
The ideal applicant needs to have a good understanding of supporting pupils, who will present challenging behaviour, have poor attendance and a lack of confidence. You will need to build relationships and gain trust quickly as you will be working with some pupils on a one to one basis.
The role will be working 5 days a week, 8:30am till 3:30pm and the provision does have excellent transport links and a large car park.
To apply for this role:
" A clear understanding of SEND or particularly SEMH
" Flexibility around availability
" NVQ 3 or equivalent is desirable but not essential
" A current DBS
" References to cover the last year
