Job Title: Key Worker (SEMH/ Complex Needs)
Axcis Education are looking for a Key Worker to support both primary and secondary aged students in a Trauma Informed Alternative Provision based in Tiverton. With a holistic approach to education, their ambition is to support students to return to mainstream settings, and thrive in a mixture of educational and vocational subjects whilst they are with them.
As a key worker, you will work closely with young people, tailoring the learning environment to their individual personalities, needs, and goals. A key part of this role is building trust and positive relationships with the students to help them develop emotional regulation, social skills, and confidence.
Key Responsibilities:
• Create a calming, supportive environment that encourages expression and trust.
• Use therapeutic approaches and alternative delivery methods to meet the needs of students.
• Help students develop positive social and communication skills through contextualised learning experiences.
• Collaborate with other staff members to ensure a holistic approach to student wellbeing and progress.
Requirements:
• Experience working with young people with complex emotional and social needs, including Autism.
• A background in alternative provision, support work, youth work or similar settings is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of therapeutic approaches and experience using alternative delivery methods.
• Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to create a trusting, supportive learning environment.
Due to their rural location, being a driver is desirable.
