HLTA needed for an alternative ASD provision in South Bristol | Bristol | SEN TA Jobs
JOB TITLE / ROLE:
HLTA needed for an alternative ASD provision in South Bristol - Bristol - Role: SEN TA Jobs
Axcis have a long standing relationship with a small, alternative provision near the city centre, which caters for secondary aged students with ASD and Asperger's. They are currently seeking a HLTA with the ability to lead their cookery projects to join their friendly team.
The provision has a focus on outdoor education and life skills, as well as entry level and GCSE courses in English, maths and science. The students who attend the centre, are unable to attend mainstream education settings for a range of reasons, including challenging behaviour and school refusal. Therefore, the social, emotional development of the students is key to this setting, hence the focus on outdoor learning and life skills development.
The ideal candidate will:
-Have experience of working with young people in alternative educational environments who display challenging behaviour (those candidates who have worked in residential care may be suitable for this role)
-Have a good standard of education, as the role does involve lots of one to one working with the students, focussing on English, maths and science (resources are provided)
-Be available for an immediate start, with a current DBS check or have one on the online update service
