This role involves supporting young adults aged 16–25 with a range of SEND needs, including autism, complex needs and communication difficulties. We are looking for candidates who have experience working with young adults or older learners with additional needs and who are passionate about promoting independence, confidence and positive educational outcomes in a college environment. This position is ideal for anyone considering a future career in teaching, youth work, social care, or mental-health support within Post-16 settings and offers valuable experience within the Further Education sector. The working hours for this role are 9am to 4pm, Monday to Friday, with an hourly rate starting at £14 per hour. Key Responsibilities Supporting young adults to stay engaged with their studies, helping them progress academically and develop independent-learning skills. Creating a safe, supportive and respectful environment that recognises the needs, preferences and maturity of Post-16 learners. Working collaboratively with teachers, tutors and wider college support teams to meet outcomes outlined in individual Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs). Encouraging the development of life skills, confidence and self-advocacy appropriate to a further-education pathway. Person Specification We are seeking caring, patient and proactive individuals who can build positive, professional relationships with young adults, helping them overcome barriers and build self-esteem.
