A well respected Alternative Provision Academy in Westminster is urgently looking for an experienced SEND Teacher to cover English classes (up to KS4) for students aged 11-16.
The academy supports learners who have experienced difficulties with their learning and behaviour in mainstream school. It also supports learners who have a Statement of Special Educational Needs. The ideal Teacher will be qualified (with QTS) and have gained extensive experience within a similar specialist setting.
Many of the students at this school are affected with EBD/SEBD/SEMH and display severe challenging behaviour. Therefore, the successful Teacher must possess the confidence, creativity and resilience required to motivate and inspire disaffected and disengaged young learners.
This is a long term, temporary and full time (5 days a week) position to start immediately. For exceptional candidates, there is the potential for this position to become permanent and part time (4 days per week).
To apply you must be able to demonstrate that you have worked successfully with students affected with challenging behaviour, possess QTS and an up to date DBS clearance and be available to start immediately. Trial days are expected to start week commencing 23rd February 2015.
