Position: Full-Time Early Years SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Smethwick
Position Type: Full-time (Monday – Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm)
Pay: From £89 per day / £13.86 per hour
Start Date: December 2025
We are looking to appoint a committed Early Years SEN Teaching Assistant to join a friendly primary school based in Smethwick (B66). This role is suited to someone warm, patient, and enthusiastic about supporting young children with additional needs. You will be working within the Early Years department, providing tailored support to pupils with a variety of SEN, either individually or within small groups. Please note personal care may be required.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide targeted 1:1 and small group support for Early Years pupils with SEN
• Assist with children’s learning, social skills, and emotional well-being
• Contribute to and follow Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
• Work in partnership with teachers, SENCOs, and other school staff
• Help maintain a nurturing, inclusive, and stimulating Early Years environment
Requirements:
• Experience in a nursery or Early Years setting is strongly preferred
• Previous experience supporting SEN children or vulnerable individuals is essential
• Must be available for a full-time role only
• A caring, adaptable, and proactive approach to supporting young learners
• Confident communication and interpersonal skills
• A DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
