Experienced SEND Class Teacher required for a fantastic special secondary school in Southwark - London - SE - Role:
SEN Teacher Jobs
DETAILS:
I am urgently seeking an experienced class teacher for a lovely, well respected and inspiring special school in Southwark on a long term contract from September 2016. This school caters for the needs of students affected with autistic spectrum disorders/conditions (ASD/ASC) aged 11-19.
Although this is a secondary school environment, many of the students are currently working within the primary curriculum therefore primary trained teachers (with QTS), who are able to deliver this curriculum are suitable and OTT (Overseas trained teachers) are also very welcome to apply.
The school are looking for a compassionate, pro active and resilient SEN/SEND teacher for a KS3 class. The ideal candidate will have gained some previous experience working with students with SEN/SEND and challenging behaviour. Those with a qualification in using Team Teach to de-escalate challenging behaviour are encouraged to apply. A knowledge/experience of using PECS/Makaton is desirable, but not essential.
Staff continuity is extremely important in this school, therefore the ability to commit to this placement is essential. This is a full time role, 5 days a week, 8:15-4pm, term time only. The potential for this placement to become permanent with the school his highly likely, dependant on a 12 week probationary period through Axcis Education.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced mainstream primary teacher who wishes to specialise within SEN/SEND education. The successful candidate will have access to a range of in-house and external CPD courses that the school will arrange, to ensure that they are equipped to succeed within this specialist environment.
This is an urgent requirement.
This is a temporary position.
