Olympics & Paralympics Artwork Competition

Prior to the Olympics Axcis Sheffield offered an artwork competition to all SEN schools across the Yorkshire and Derbyshire region. The objective was to allow all children with SEND the opportunity to get involved in the spirit of the Olympics and Paralympics 2012 by setting their creative spirit ablaze in the form of creating a poster illustrating their idea of the Olympics. This project was very well supported and the winning school, Swanwick School and Sports College was awarded a £500 prize with the first placed pupil’s artwork printed on a t-shirt for their outstanding wall mural.

Mainstream Teachers interested in transforming to SEN

Even though our main focus is on servicing SEN schools, we often service mainstream schools as well and we therefore understand that there are many mainstream teachers that would like to work within special needs but are not sure how to transfer their valuable teaching skills to make that transition. Well, we are here to help you!

We have supported many mainstream teachers in the transition of becoming SEN teachers - after all it’s quite likely that you would have come across ASD, Dyslexia, EBD or some form of MLD within your classes.

If you wish to develop your career in this area one option would be to become a teaching assistant within an SEN school for a few weeks so that you can gain experience as well as observe the teaching techniques used by the class teacher. This will also allow you the opportunity to decide what special needs you would be comfortable working with long term or permanently, and will also help you to develop your career and skills.

Register with us and our team will endeavour to find you the best opportunity to suit your skills.

You may also visit our jobs section for information on current vacancies.
