National Autistic Society (NAS) partnership with Axcis

One of our main partners, the NAS is celebrating its 50th birthday – 50 years which have given them an unparalleled level of autism understanding. The NAS is the UKs leading autism charity supporting people living with autism at every stage of life – from helping parents through diagnosis; to person centred schooling; mentoring adults to gain employment; and training and sharing good practice with professionals.

The relationship between Axcis and NAS has developed over the last eight years but within the last two years has grown significantly. This is down to our joint belief that all children living with autism should receive the same quality first provision to meet their individual needs, build their confidence and skills the same as all other children, to give them the start they deserve in life; with hopes, dreams and aspirations for their future.

Last year Axcis sponsored the educational stream of the national education conference. We held five regional roadshows, training and webinar opportunities to develop tools and strategies to support children effectively.

This year Axcis are proud to announce we were the headline sponsor of the NAS conference in Harrogate. The conference provided the latest information and practical tools to increase the effectiveness of services and improve outcomes for people with autism.

Local Authorities have appointed an Autism Lead responsible for implementing other aspects of the strategy, however progress is slow and patchy and to many are still waiting for the everyday support they need.
