Map of London

This is a map of the London Local Authorities. Each has it’s own Local Government and LEA (Local Education Authority). The areas are similar to what you might call Local Council Authorities or voting shires if your are from outside the UK

London consists of 32 Local Authorities shown below plus the ‘City’*

The London Tube / Rail system operates to all the Local Authorities. It is a big city and can take a while to get from one side to the other. There are no fast trains that go through London so most people rely on the underground/tube.

A trip from Richmond to Westminister may take 45 minutes. Sutton to Islington 50 minutes.
The tube and the trains are very easy to use, fairly reliable and very frequent especially in peak periods when there will be one every minute. It will only take a few days before you feel like a local!

For more about getting around in London see the Transport for London website.
The Axcis office is located in Westminster (Oxford Circus Tube if you want to look us up :) )

* Please note, the ‘City’ of London is the historic core of London which is now a major business and financial centre but is now only a tiny part of the much larger London metropolis. It is often referred to as the ‘City’ or the ‘Square Mile’, as it is almost exactly one square mile (2.6 km²) in area. (Read more bout the City or London in general)
