Axcis Education is currently looking for a youth worker to work at an alternative provision based in Leyland. This is a full time position starting as soon as possible. You would be working 8.30am - 3.30pm Monday to Friday, either as a 1-1 or in small groups. The school caters for pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs, who cannot remain in mainstream education. A lot of the students have additional needs such as autism and ADHD, and there are instances of challenging behaviour within the school. Previous experience working with social, emotional and mental health needs is essential. The role can be challenging at times so previous experience working with challenging behaviour and pupils that are difficult to reach is also desirable. You must be resilient and passionate about making a difference. The school is dedicated about supporting its students and has a program of support in place to help them excel. There is a lot of focus on extra-curricular activities to help the children re-engage with their education. Members of staff are proud to be a member of the school and feel very well supported.
