Tutor to Work with Looked After Children | Merseyside | SEN Teacher Jobs
Axcis are working collaboratively with several Virtual Heads to support them with staff for teaching and mentoring Looked after Children (LAC).
Currently we have many roles for tutors and support staff for one to one roles with children and young people aged 4-25 who are no longer able to access education in a mainstream school.
We would be especially keen to hear from anyone who has a background in ESOL or has experience of working with EAL children and young people. Experience of working with SEMH and SEBD would also be an advantage.
Working with children from the LAC, you will be part of a multiple agency team all working together to support the pupils with the aim of helping them achieve their potential.
The designated tutor will:
Promote a relationship based on targets and needs set out in the IEP which will be encouraging the pupil to engage in lessons.
Implement teaching and learning strategies for positive change.
Be flexible as sessions can change quickly.
As the tutor, you will be responsible for:
Planning and delivering a Timetable, reporting attendance figures and students' progress on a weekly basis, along with a general breakdown of student's engagement.
During the placement you will need to attend pupil meetings and PEP/ LAC/ EHCP reviews.
